Delete your KKSJ account

KKSJ is a group lunch coordination app made by SmileyTech. This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (recommended)

  1. Open KKSJ on your phone.
  2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm the deletion in the prompt.

Your account is removed immediately. There is no recovery period — once you confirm, the deletion is permanent.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If the in-app option fails for any reason (account locked, app won't open, lost device, etc.), email us:

Use the subject line "Delete KKSJ account" and include the email address associated with your account. We'll confirm the deletion within 7 days.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your profile (display name, email, country, avatar)
  • Your membership in every group you belonged to
  • Every place you added (if no other member has used it; otherwise it stays in the group's place catalog but with no attribution)
  • Every vote you cast
  • Every pool order you logged
  • Every menu photo you uploaded
  • Every place you favorited

What is retained

A small amount of data may remain after deletion for legitimate operational reasons:

  • Group history: groups you created remain visible to the other members, but you appear as "Removed user" on past pools and orders. Other members continue to use the group as normal.
  • Bill-split records on closed pools: financial settlement history (who-owes-whom amounts) on pools that closed BEFORE you deleted your account is preserved for the other group members' reference. Your name is replaced with "Removed user."
  • Anonymized aggregate analytics: nothing personally identifiable; just counts of pools / orders / votes used to monitor app health. Stripped of your user ID before retention.

How long retention lasts

Operational data described above is kept for 90 days after account deletion, then permanently removed from our active databases. Backups containing the data are rotated every 30 days, so worst case the last trace of your data is gone within 120 days.
